Frequently Asked Questions
Is breakfast included during my stay?
Yes - we believe in effortless luxury, and the ease of starting the day with a delicious meal right here. We serve breakfast seven days a week, plated, and made to order. Your server will answer any questions you may have about fun things to see and savor at the Stavrand and throughout wine country.
Does the Stavrand accommodate full buy-outs of ALL rooms and nearly 6 acres?
Absolutely. We provide 21 guest rooms (up to 46 overnight guests) and serve a total of up to 150 people for an event. Four outdoor and three indoor areas at the Stavrand provide "venues within the venue" for your reunion, corporate retreat, wedding, or other private event. Please contact groups@thestavrand.com to learn more and inquire about availability.
I don't want to buy out the entire property; how do I go about booking a smaller group or meeting?
Groups of more than 5 rooms or 10 total room nights may qualify for special pricing under a Group Agreement. Please give us a call, or visit our Groups & Meetings page to request information.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-out is 11am, and you are free to check-in anytime after 3pm. We will always try to accommodate requests for early check-in whenever possible. We staff reception 24 hours a day. If you would like to enjoy the grounds or the Guerneville area before or after your stay, we're happy to hold your belongings while you explore.
Do you have truly high-speed internet service?
The Stavrand partners with Sonic for 1G, fiber-optic internet. This super-fast connection supports all of your meeting, calling, viewing, and Chromecast entertainment needs.
Can I swim in the pool during the winter?
Guests may swim in the pool year-round. However, because the heating system is solar-powered, the water temperature can be brisk. Many of our guests prefer to utilize the adjacent hot tub during the wintertime.
What spa experiences do you provide?
Talented massage therapists will ease your tension and reset your mind. Choose between the convenience of a treatment within your own guestroom, or venture to our discrete outdoor deck to incorporate the sights and sounds of the redwoods into your experience. Please advise our hosts if you prefer a 60- or 90-minute treatment, and if you have a preference for therapist gender.
Is the Stavrand dog-friendly?
Absolutely, in several rooms. Please call ahead to request a dog-friendly room and we'll get you squared away. Please note that these four-legged companions are only allowed in certain rooms of the Cazadero and Armstrong Houses, and not in Belden House or in the Stavrand Hall dining room. Unfortunately, the Stavrand does not allow cats or other pets to visit.
At check-in, dog owners need to sign an agreement form outlining hotel rules, including a commitment to stay with their pup throughout the stay. A $150 per stay fee applies; while dogs of all sizes and breeds may enjoy the Stavrand, the maximum number is two per room.
Service dogs may enter all areas of the property, including the dining room, and the pet fee does not apply.
Is the hotel kid-friendly?
We welcome families with children. Please contact us if you’d like to request a room with sofa bed or rollaway (since our typical room offers one king bed), or if you’d like ideas for adventures kids might enjoy such as the Sonoma Canopy Tours zipline, Charles Schultz Museum, Safari West, and more. While adult-sized, we do offer floats and kayaks for lazy river days as well. Here at the hotel, lawn games and s’mores are always a hit!
Did the Stavrand become a Hilton hotel?
The Stavrand remains a fully independent boutique hotel, owned and operated by proprietor Emily Glick (and friends and family investors). Now, though, members of Hilton Honors can book through that brand's website to receive or redeem their loyalty points.
What is the cost to use a crib or rollaway bed?
Our team will set up a portable "Pack 'n' Play" crib at any time; please note that, for safety reasons, we are unable to provide crib bedding. These collapsible units are provided on a complimentary basis and fit in all guestrooms.
Every Cazadero and Armstrong room category, and a few of the Belden House rooms, can accommodate a rollaway bed, at a charge of $50/night. Please contact us in advance to request a room that provides the space for a rollaway.
All 21 Stavrand rooms provide one king bed, and three include a fold-out sofa bed in addition to the king. To discuss those accommodations further or make a request for one of these three rooms, please reach out.
Your complimentary breakfast amenity extends up to two guests per room daily, though additional guests may dine for a fee (waived for kids under 12 years of age).
I don’t want to drive - can I still get around?
While Uber and Lyft Bill’s Taxi and R2T2 Taxi connect our guests with destinations further afield. There are also a variety of restaurants, bars, and a tasting room right on Main Street, a twelve-minute stroll away.
Contact our hosts if you'd like help reserving a car service or private guide for a wine tasting expedition.
Please note that Uber and Lyft are not readily available in our area, so it’s best to plan ahead with local taxi options.
